The sublime meditations of the Heruka Body Mandala enable us to swiftly transform our ordinary world and experiences into those of a Buddha, a fully enlightened being. This retreat is a rare opportunity to gain experience of the Highest Yoga Tantra practices of Buddha Heruka under the guidance of an experienced teacher. By becoming familiar with these meditations you will gain confidence in your ability to become an enlightened person and bring happiness and benefit to everyone.

Set in the exquisite natural beauty of New Zealand, this retreat offers perfect conditions that will allow your mind to let go and enjoy the bliss of this practice. The retreat begins with supper at 6:30pm on Saturday night and finishes after lunch on Thursday.

ABOUT THE TEACHER

Gen Kelsang Rabten is the National Spiritual Director for Kadampa Buddhism in New Zealand, Australia and South East Asia, and has taught meditation for over twenty-five years. His deep faith in Buddha’s teachings and the sincerity of his practice inspire many people to embark on a meaningful and rich spiritual life.

Retreat fee includes all teachings and meditations, lunch and dinner. Offsite attendees pay retreat fee only.

Location & Information

The retreat will be held at Tauhara Retreat Centre, overlooking picturesque Lake Taupo in New Zealand’s North Island, south of Auckland.

Flights from Brisbane, Australia to Auckland, New Zealand

The easiest way to get to Taupo is via Auckland International airport. Various airlines fly from Brisbane to Auckland including Air New Zealand and Emirates.

Getting to Taupo from Auckland

Various options are available:

  1. Fly with Air New Zealand – currently they are offering 2 direct flights a day
  2. Jump on an InterCity Bus – fares from $5.00. You can take this bus from the airport or from Auckland city
  3. Rent a car
  4. Ride share with New Zealand Sangha – we will start creating a list of available ride share options

Taxi service is available from the Taupo bus station and airport to the retreat centre.
