    Gen Kelsang Shechog is a Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Wellington. Gen Shechog has been practising and teaching Kadampa Buddhism for over 16 years. Her teachings are exceptionally clear and she presents profound ideas in a way that is easily accessible and applicable to modern life. Gen Shechog is much loved for her gentle manner, kind heart and for showing an inspiring example for everyone on the spiritual path.

About the Retreat

If we wish to lead the happy life we long for, we need to learn how to transform our mind. In this retreat, be guided through the essential meditations of Buddhism that will give rise to a complete transformation of your mind, freeing you from negative emotions and making joy and happiness your everyday reality.

Taught by Buddhist nun Gen Kelsang Shechog, the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Wellington, this retreat offers a unique opportunity to experience stillness within the tranquil setting of Otaki Gorge and the Waihoanga Retreat Centre.

The retreat begins with a light evening meal at 6.30pm on the Friday night and finishes with lunch on Monday. This retreat is catered with delicious vegetarian and vegan food, and there is a range of accommodation options.

Cost

All booking options include retreat sessions as well as lunch and dinner. Breakfast is also included when booking accommodation. For those staying off-site, breakfast is not included but can be booked if required.

All bookings must be accompanied by at least a 25% deposit. Full payment due by January 6th.

Book before December 23 to receive a 10% early bird discount for camping, dorm and shared room options.

Centre Members receive a 10% discount on all options, and an additional 5% early-bird discount for camping, dorm and shared room.
