Reliance on a Spiritual Guide • Special Morning Course

A Special Sunday Morning Course

“The path begins with strong reliance on my kind teacher, source of all good.”
Prayer of the Stages of the Path

The practice of relying on a spiritual guide is said to be the root of the spiritual path. In this special class we will explore the Buddhist perspective on what it means to rely on a spiritual guide, and how we can use this practice to find inspiration in daily life and make swift progress in our spiritual development.

This special Sunday morning course will be taught by Gen Kelsang Rabten. Gen Rabten is the Resident Teacher of KMC Australia and has taught in many centres around the world including New Zealand, Australia and South-East Asia. Ordained in 1994, he has studied under the guidance of Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche for 30 years. Gen Rabten exemplifies the essence of the modern Kadampa way of life, brings a warm heart and joyful attitude to sharing Buddha’s teachings and the practice of meditation.

We will then have the opportunity to take the essential points of the course more deeply into our heart by engaging in a guided meditation session led by Buddhist monk and resident teacher Kelsang Lachpa.
