    Kelsang Lachpa is a New Zealand Buddhist monk, ordained for over ten years, and the Education Programme Coordinator at our Centre. He is an experienced and warm-hearted teacher, inspiring others to find lasting peace and happiness through the practice of meditation and Buddhism. Lachpa is known for his thoughtful insights into Buddha’s teachings and his joyful practical approach to teaching. Lachpa teaches the Island Bay evening class, The Terrace after-work class and the Lower Hutt evening class.

    Meditation Teacher

    Rachael is a heartfelt Buddhist practitioner who has been studying Buddha’s teachings and practising meditation for many years. As a mother in a modern busy world she has a skilful way of making meditation accessible and relevant in our everyday lives and is known for her joyful and sincere presentation of Buddha’s teachings. Rachael is the Administration Director at our Centre. She teaches the Kapiti evening class.

Overcoming Anxiety • Day Course

About the Course

Anxiety and stress are an increasingly common problem for people in our busy, modern world. These states of mind prevent us from experiencing peace and enjoying life.
Meditation is an effective way to combat negative states of mind and create a sense of mental freedom. By gaining experience of Buddhist meditation techniques and positive thinking we can learn to control our mind, rather than allowing our mind to control us. At this day course we will learn how to identify and remove the causes of anxiety and worry, and enjoy a more balanced and happy life.

Cost

$60 | unwaged $48 (FREE for Centre Members). Includes refreshments.

There will be break for lunch from 12.30pm to 1.30pm. You are welcome to bring your own vegetarian lunch to enjoy at our Meditation Centre, or take a short stroll to enjoy the nearby Island Bay cafes.

The course is also available to view online live or for 7 days afterwards, to those who book by Sunday 18 July.
