    Gen Kelsang Rabten is an internationally renowned teacher and Kadampa Buddhist monk and the NKT-IKBU National Spiritual Director of Kadampa Buddhism for New Zealand, Australia and southeast Asia. He has studied and taught modern Kadampa Buddhism for more than 27 years. He is much loved for his insight, humour and practical explanations of meditation and Buddhism.

    Gen Kelsang Shechog is a Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Wellington. Gen Shechog has been practising and teaching Kadampa Buddhism for over 16 years. Her teachings are exceptionally clear and she presents profound ideas in a way that is easily accessible and applicable to modern life. Gen Shechog is much loved for her gentle manner, kind heart and for showing an inspiring example for everyone on the spiritual path.

    Resident Teacher in Christchurch

    Kelsang Luma is a Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher of Kalpa Bhadra Buddhist Centre in Christchurch. Luma has studied and taught modern Kadampa Buddhism for more than 15 years and has dedicated her life to helping people solve their problems through Buddha’s timeless instructions.

    Luma gives clear and practical teachings, sharing her deep understanding of the Buddhist path. Through her teachings and example she shows us how we can easily integrate Buddha’s wisdom into our modern lives.

Gen Rabten will take us on a guided meditative journey, granting the empowerment of Avalokiteshvara, the Buddha of Compassion. Our hearts will be connected to enlightened love, compassion and powerful inspiration.

Following the blessing ceremony, for the first time in New Zealand, Gen Rabten will teach “Essential Insights into the Avalokiteshvara Sadhana” from Venerable Geshe-la’s latest release, The Mirror of Dharma with Additions.

Kadampa Meditation Centre Wellington has been relocated to Khandallah, in a tranquil and lush location yet close to public transport and parking. Our new address is 2 Ardross Avenue.
