Sacred Sounds: Mantra Practice and Buddhism • Friday Evening Lecture
About the Evening Lecture
The sacred sounds of mantra offer an uncommon avenue to deep inner peace and spiritual realisation. The reverberation of these blessed syllables has long been used to achieve deep self-transformation in a way that the ordinary conceptual mind we are so used to cannot achieve.
Mantra means ‘mind protection’. It is a supreme method to enhance the qualities of our body and mind. It can calm our mind by pacifying negative thoughts that give rise to suffering and it can also lead us deeper into connecting with enlightened power.
During this evening lecture Resident Teacher Kelsang Lachpa will explain the meaning of mantra and how it functions. He will give instructions on how to combine mantra recitation with breathing meditation, which is a simple yet powerful method to attain a calm, controlled and positive mind, and it also creates special causes within our mind to experience the supreme inner peace of enlightenment.
