Gen Kelsang ShechogResident TeacherGen Kelsang Shechog is a Buddhist nun and the Resident Teacher of Kadampa Meditation Centre Wellington. Gen Shechog has been practising and teaching Kadampa Buddhism for over 16 years. Her teachings are exceptionally clear and she presents profound ideas in a way that is easily accessible and applicable to modern life. Gen Shechog is much loved for her gentle manner, kind heart and for showing an inspiring example for everyone on the spiritual path.
Gen Shechog teaches at the Centre in Island Bay and various classes around the Wellington area as well as our Foundation Programmes.

Please Note: You must have received Heruka and Vajrayogini empowerment at an International Kadampa Festival to attend this class.
These Highest Yoga Tantra (HYT) classes with Kelsang Shechog are a precious opportunity to deepen our experience of the essential meditations and practices of HYT. Tantra is Buddha’s most rare and profound teaching that provides the most radical and complete solutions to our problems. By learning how to harness the power of our imagination with wisdom, we can completely fulfil our spiritual potential in this life through HYT practice.
Class format
The classes will include teachings, meditations and an opportunity to ask questions, as well as advice on how to integrate HYT practices into our daily life. They are suitable for all HYT practitioners, including those newly initiated at Summer Festival 2021. The classes will be based around the Vajrayogini sadhana Dakini Yoga which can be purchased as a physical or digital booklet from the Tharpa website.
Each session is available to watch for 48 hours after the live-streamed class.
