Death And Dying – A Buddhist Perspective Day Course • In-Person

About the Course

Part One: Meditation Workshop | 9.45am–1pm We are alive, therefore we will die. This is the simplest, most obvious truth of our existence, yet very few of us have really come to terms with this fact. Buddha’s teachings offer us profound insight into the meaning and process of death. Such an insight makes every moment of our life meaningful now and enables us to meet our death joyfully, without fear.

Part Two: Guided Powa Practice | 2pm–4pm The practice of Powa is a traditional Buddhist ritual practice to transfer the consciousness of those who have recently died, or our own consciousness, to a Pure Land. Powa practice explains clearly how we can face our own death, and how we can help those who are dying. This is one of the kindest things we can do for ourself and for others.

**There will be break for lunch from 1pm – 2pm. You are welcome to bring your own vegetarian lunch to enjoy at our Meditation Centre, or take a short stroll to enjoy the nearby Island Bay cafes.**
