A different topic, or series, is taught every few weeks. See below for topics and dates.

Class Format

Each class begins with a simple guided meditation to make the mind peaceful and let go of distractions. The teacher will then give a talk based on the class topic, and explain how we can integrate beneficial ways of thinking into our busy daily lives. The class concludes with a second meditation so that we are confident to practise on our own.

Afterwards, there is an opportunity for questions and refreshments.

Topics & Dates

Class on the 24th July is cancelled due to building works at the Coastlands Aquatic Centre. Sorry for any inconvenience.

In this series, learn Buddhist meditation techniques to experience the clear, peaceful nature of our own mind. Discover the scientific methods for enjoying true happiness by developing positive states of mind that help combat common day to day problems.

We all know this experience well: we think about something too much, and instead of making progress towards a solution, we become worried and stressed. We worry about the future or brood over the past, we fret over what others might think of us or agonise over a tough decision.

The good news is that overthinking is simply a mental habit, and like all habits, it can be broken. There are patterns to our thinking; and just as they’ve been learned, they can be unlearned. Whether you’re a chronic overthinker or can’t switch your mind off to go to sleep—Buddha’s teaching on the mind can help.

In this series you will learn how to remain balanced, calm and clear, even in our busy world with all its stress and stimulation.

Venue & Parking

The class is held at the Coastlands Aquatic Centre’s meeting room. There is a parking lot in front of the Aquatic Centre.

The meeting room can be accessed via the main reception area (through the door adjacent to the kids play area and cafe) or from the front carpark area.
