Unguided Amitayus Retreat

About the Retreat

On this retreat we have the opportunity to increase our lifespan, merit and wisdom, through the special meditation practice of Buddha Amitayus.
Our human life is our most precious possession because it gives us the opportunity to improve our happiness continually, ultimately enjoying the supreme happiness of enlightenment. We therefore need a long and healthy life. To ensure we are successful in our efforts, we also need wisdom, and the merit or inner good fortune that enables the growth of spiritual realisations.
Amitayus is the Buddha of long life, merit, and wisdom. By engaging in this practice, we can develop these qualities and eventually attain the deathless state of a Buddha. We will also be making special dedications for the long life of our Founder, Venerable Geshe Kelsang Gyatso Rinpoche.
The retreat sessions consist of chanted prayers sung in English and time for silent mantra recitation. The first session will begin with an introductory talk by Buddhist nun and Resident Teacher Gen Kelsang Shechog.

Each session is free of charge, just drop in to any or all of them (booking not required for in-person attendance). Tea and coffee will be provided.
