Kadampa Meditation Centre Wellington is a registered charitable organisation (Charity #CC27862) dedicated to helping people find practical solutions to the problems of daily life through Buddhist philosophy and meditation.
We are a member of the New Kadampa Tradition – International Kadampa Buddhist Union (NKT-IKBU). This is a non-profit association of study and meditation centres dedicated to helping people everywhere find meaning and purpose in their lives, and to the developing of genuine inner peace and happiness.
You can also apply to be a resident at the Centre. All residents are responsible to cover their living cost and engage in a study programme.
LIVING AT THE CENTRE
Kadampa Meditation Centre Wellington is located in beautiful Island Bay, on the edge of Wellington city. Our peaceful environment makes it the perfect place to relax and unwind at the end of a working day.
The spiritual community at Kadampa Meditation Centre Wellington is a modern day example of how putting Buddha’s teachings into practice creates a peaceful and harmonious environment that is a pleasure for all who visit.
Becoming a resident at the Centre means being part of this contemporary spiritual family and is a precious opportunity to begin or deepen our experience of a spiritual life.
The Centre holds weekly meditation classes, meditation retreats, day courses, weekend courses and more.
Living at the Centre means enjoying the convenience of these Dharma teachings in your own home, given by our much-loved Resident Teacher, Kelsang Shechog, as well as our other teachers.
Living at the Centre simply involves a wish to improve our minds, cherish others, and contribute to the flourishing of Kadampa Buddhism in Wellington.
